Meet Kate
Kate is the founder of Fraser Stevens Learning and has spent nearly two decades helping children approach the 11+ with confidence, clarity, and a sense of calm.
After graduating from the University of Leeds in 2005, Kate began her career in the City but quickly realised her strengths lay elsewhere. Drawn to education and child development, she moved into roles within local primary schools and children’s charities, where she developed a strong understanding of how children learn and how they respond to pressure.
In 2007, Kate began specialising in 11+ preparation, working closely with families navigating what can often feel like an overwhelming process. Since then, she has supported over a thousand children through the Buckinghamshire 11+ and independent school entrance exams.
Kate’s approach is structured but kind. She believes children make the best progress when they feel secure, understood, and appropriately challenged rather than rushed or overwhelmed. Small-group teaching allows learning to be carefully paced, with individual needs recognised and confidence built over time.
Supporting parents is an equally important part of Kate’s work. She understands how much uncertainty the 11+ journey can bring and takes pride in offering clear communication, reassurance, and honest guidance throughout the process.
Kate teaches locally in Berkhamsted and lives with her husband, their daughter and son, and their two much-loved dogs, Boris and Doris.
